DIY Personalized Chocolate Baskets

Posted by busy mom on Feb 10, 2010 in Crafts & DIY Projects |

Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching. I have many special people in my life that I love dearly.

I want to make them feel extra loved on Valentine’s Day especially the children. I have 7 children to spoil. Two of them are mine and 5 of them are my nephews and nieces.

Usually on Valentine’s Day I make little goody bags with chocolate and other treats for all the kids.

I love yummy DIY projects so this year I decided to make them personalized Valentine’s Day chocolate baskets.

I made 2 identical chocolate baskets for my nieces ages 13 and 15. They had to be the same chocolate baskets with the same amount of chocolates, same kind of chocolates and of course same little reusable baskets. Yes, they are sisters and they are teenagers.

The DIY chocolate baskets turned out great. They look so cute and it was fun and easy DIY project that anyone can handle.

For two personalized Chocolate Baskets I used:

  • 2 Small Wicker Baskets (6″ x 5″ x3″)
  • 1 Floral Foam
  • Red Tissue Shred
  • Pink Tissue Shred
  • 2 Pink Pipe Cleaners
  • 2 Purple Pipe Cleaners
  • 2 Fancy Pens with Mirror
  • 2 Lollipop Bouquets from Wal-Mart
  • 12 Lindor Trufells
  • 20 Moritz Icy Squares
  • 6 Toblerone Individual Chocolates
  • Bamboo Skewers

Cut floral foam to fit tight inside the basket. Cover it with red and pink tissue shred.

Place Lollipop Bouquet in the middle at the back of the basket. Put the skewers through the individual chocolates just far enough to be stable. Arrange chocolates around the lollipops.

Wrap pipe cleaners around pencil. Remove it and stretch it out. Place one pipe cleaner on each side of lollipops.

Stick the pencil on the back.

Your personalize DIY Chocolate Basket for Valentine’s Day is ready. Who wouldn’t want to receive one of these on Sunday?

I will also glue little red paper hearts with girls names on the front of the baskets.
